Patients are now able to book Routine GP Appointments and make Repeat Prescription Requests on-line.

In cooperation with EMIS, our computer supplier, we are testing a new service that gives patients Internet access to the practice. You can book, cancel or check your appointments, and order repeat prescriptions on the Web. This facility, similar to online banking, is a first in the UK. We hope it will be more convenient for you, and also give our reception staff more time to deal with other enquiries.

Getting Started

Firstly register to use the Internet appointment booking facility. Ask the receptionist about details of how to register. Once you have applied for registration you will receive a form containing various details, which you will need to enter on the registration screen when you first visit the web site. After registering, you log on with your patient number and a password. You will then be able to view appointments you have already made, cancel them if necessary, and book an appointment with your doctor after checking the times available.

Repeat prescription ordering is also available.

How to Use the Service

If you wish to sign up for these facilities ask the receptionist for details of how to register and receive your registration details then follow these simple instructions.

Log on to https://access.e-mis.co.uk and follow the on-screen instructions.

Enter your personal details in exactly the same format as on the registration form. If the information does not match, your registration will not be accepted.

Choose from the on-screen options:

	Book an appointment
	Order repeat prescriptions

When you book an appointment online you will receive confirmation immediately. There is no need to confirm by mail or telephone – just turn up promptly on the day!

The EMIS Access service is available 7 days a week from early morning until late at night.

Remember, the online system is available for routine GP appointments only and is not available to make appointments to see the nurses at the moment.
